It is finally fall and my favorite trend is all about the 70’s. For those who know me I am obsessed with the 70’s! The clothes, the music, the movies and overall attitude of the era. I got the CUTEST outfit at Forever 21 that has the 70’s cool thing going on I just love!
Here are some of my favorite things from the 70’s!
Mamma Mia 1&2 obviously!– Although the movie wasn’t made in the 70’s it was inspired by that era. The sequel does actually go back to the 70’s in flashback and the fashion is so much fun! And Abba’s music is basically my religion. I wrote review on Mamma Mia 2, click HERE to read it and see what makes the movie so great!
Grease– It came out in 1978 but set in the 50’s. A musical classic that I can watch over and over again and never get tired of it. I own the soundtrack and know every word to every song. And just, John Travolta
Staying Alive– Technically came out in 1983 but was a sequel to Saturday Night Fever that came out in 1977. I was never a fan of the original but Staying Alive has always been my favorite movie since I was a kid. Is that weird? My sister and I used to learn all the dance moves and sing along to the Bee Gees. And just, John Travolta.
Abba & The Bee Gee’s– Both coincide with my favorite movies. Just LOVE.
The Carpenters– A lot of my 70’s love probably comes from my mom and growing up listening to this type of music in the car after getting picked up from school or going to get food. The Carpenters were one of those because my only memories of listening to them are in the car with my mom! I love their sound!
Fleetwood Mac-Love them and so excited about their comeback. Also love Stevie Knicks’s American Horror story appearance during the Coven season. Can’t wait to see again this season on the Coven/ Murder House crossover!
Aretha Franklin– R-E-S-P-E-C-T! The anthem of all anthems! RIP Aretha!
There’s seriously so many more. The 70’s were the best.
JOHN TRAVOLTA– I think my obsession with him started the first time I saw Grease and grew with each time I watched it plus Staying Alive as well as all of his other great movies. He is just everything and my celebrity crush for life!
Olivia Newton John– Wouldn’t have my favorite movie without Olivia. Grease is the word.
Stevie Knicks– Just about the coolest person alive
Diane Von Furstenberg– The women who created the jersey wrap dress but she is so much more. Her mission in life is to empower women and she does that through her clothing. She also mentors and speaks at colleges and holds the DVF awards every year to highlight women who are making a difference in the world. Before all that she was a legit princess! I have done so many projects about her at school and she is forever my inspo.
I hope this inspires you to bring out the 70’s in your closet! I would love to know what your favorite things about the 70’s are! Comment below!
