I have been really impressed with all the Netflix Originals and have been trying to keep up with all the new ones that hit this Summer. I have watched or attempted to watch most of them and here are some of the best ones andddd some that you can skip. No spoilers, just movie suggestions!
I thought I would start off with an obvious one. Unless you have been living under a rock the last few weeks, you have either watched or heard of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before.
Let me rephrase that, you have either watched or heard of Noah Centineo.
The breakout star has exploded into fame and no one is mad at it.
As amazing as he is in the movie, the whole cast is so good. The movie is about a teenage girl named Lara Jean, who’s secret love letters are exposed. From her dorky widowed dad(Aiden from Sex and the City!), to her cool feminist little sister, this movie hit the mark. It just an added bonus that Lara Jean’s wardrobe is of your 90’s fashion dreams! The movie was originally a book so I don’t know if there will be a sequel but I hope so!
THIS MOVIE WAS SO MUCH FUN. The perfect cheesy high school rom com. Think Cinderella Story! Okay, maybe that is a stretch but how about the sequel, Another Cinderella Story with Selena Gomez (also on Netflix right now FYI)!
The love story is so cute but my favorite relationship was between the main character, Shelly and her best guy friend since she was a kid, Lee! Things get complicated once she unknowingly kisses his older brother at a Kissing Booth. As for the rest, you will have to watch!
I am now going to take a break from writing and watch The Kissing Booth for the third time. See ya later!
And the romantic comedy’s just keep on coming! It is definitely having a moment right now and Netflix is capitalizing on that big time. The last few years have been full of super heroes and horror movies but sometimes you just need to sit on your couch, with your wine and watch a love story.
The two main characters are personal assistants to very important and busy people, meaning they pretty much live in the office building. To let them have some type of personal life, they team up together to set up their bosses!
The pizza scene is my favorite. You’ll see.
I could probably go on and on because I am a movie freak but there are a lot more great ones you can check out later:
Alex Strangelove -Did you like Love, Simon? Then you will love this!
Sierra Burgess is a Loser– NOAH CENTINEO and Barb from Stranger Things!
When We First Met– CUTE (rom com again, cant stop myself)
GIRLBOSS– Gone too soon 😦 Best show ever. I will never get over it. You can still binge watch the first and only season! You wont regret it! Then we need to start a petition together for a second season!
Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond: The Great Beyond- Super interesting! Documentary style! Jim Carrey’s portrayal of Andy Kaufman for a movie and things get weird!
Some of these I have watched and some of these I have seen the first 5 minutes and I had to turn it off it was so bad! Here they are:
I am a HUGE fan of Sci-Fi/end of the world type of stuff so right when this movie came out I knew it was for me. I continued thinking that the first half of the movie, it had so much potential! The last half is garbage and made the whole thing a waste of the movie. Lets just say How It Ends is actually the perfect title for this movie because the end is why I will forever recommend never watching this movie. The worst.
Game Over, Man– It has the funny guy from Pitch Perfect in it (Rebel Wilson’s love interest) so I had hope but NOPE!
Take The 10– Josh from Josh and Drake. Pretty much the only good thing about this movie.
Father of the Year– Love you David Spade but I would rather watch Tommy Boy.
The Package– Same guy who plays Alex Strangelove, but just no.
There are a lot in between but I need to stop writing before I lose you guys! Be sure to check them out and let me know what you think! I cant wait for what else Netflix will do!
I will leave you with a GIF of my favorite To All The Boys I’ve Loved outfit! Velvet and Overalls, what’s better? NOTHING
